Dr. Liu has been engaged in the study of metabolic diseases such as obesity and diabetes. In response to Dr. Liu's previous work, Prof. Matthias H. Tschop, a member of the German National Academy of Sciences, published a peer review in Nature Medicine commenting that Dr. Liu’s research is an important contribution to overcoming the challenge of “Leptin Resistance”. Due to these works, Dr. Liu, as the first or corresponding author, has published 3 papers in Cell, 1 paper in Nature Medicine and 1 paper in Science Translation Medicine.
